Huawei «Smart City» Pilot Project Will be Implemented in Armenia  

 

On 13 December Mr. Vahan Martirosyan, Minister of Transportation, Communication and Information Technologies of Armenia met with the representative of Huawei Technologies telecom giant.

During the meeting the possibility of implementing the “Smart City” pilot project in Yerevan was discussed. This month a the memorandum between the Ministry and Huawei Technologies was signed.

 

The memorandum was signed by Boris Demirkhanyan, Deputy Minister of Transportation, Communication and Information Technologies of Armenia and Deputy President of Huawei Technologies (Russian Federation) Cao Chun. 

 

«Smart City» is the concept of the Chinese Huawei Telecommunication company  with the main target of making the daily life of city folks easier, cheaper and safer through increasing the lever of municipal services using modern telecommunication technologies. To put it shortly the main idea is the intellectualization of city management.

 

More than 2500 small and large cities all around the world are equipped with this concept and are striving to make it into reality.
